Transporting Tiered Cakes
Transporting Tiered Cakes
If cake is not being transported yourself, please ensure that these instructions are passed on to whoever is transporting cake for you.
Your cake will be placed in a sturdy double walled cardboard box for your collection. If transporting in a car, make sure it is placed on a flat surface NOT a car seat (they are slanted), preferably the boot/trunk of the car.
Important Tips
- Drive carefully and avoid sudden braking or sharp turns
- Keep the car cool – turn on the air conditioning. Buttercream and chocolate can melt in warm temperatures
- Do not leave the cake in a hot car for any length of time
- Transport the cake to the venue as close to the event time as possible
- Once at the venue, store in a cool area away from direct sunlight or heat sources
- Do not refrigerate unless specifically instructed to do so
- Only remove the cake from the box when you are ready to display it
Setting Up
When setting up the cake at your venue, place it on a sturdy, level table. Ensure the table is positioned away from speakers, children, and high-traffic areas. If outdoors, ensure it is in shade and away from wind.
